Johnny De Mairo and Nicholas Palermo Jr. enjoyed a prolific partnership throughout the 90s and early 2000s, and ‘Reach 4 The Sky’ was right up there with the best of their work together. ‘Bone Up!’ and both mixes of ‘Reach 4 The Sky’ are beautiful examples of their production, with all three given the space and time necessary to evolve their deep, rolling grooves into strikingly soulful pieces of music, while ‘C’Mon Give It Up’ - recorded under their JohNick alias - strides purposefully from the off and boasts perhaps one of the greatest pieces of vocal/string sampling in house music.
