D**e Fein
The 27 Club is a term used to refer to popular musicians who have died at the age of 27, often as a result of drug and alcohol abuse.Dope fein is a song about a musician (me)who accepts his weed and alcohol addiction and is prepared to deal with the consequences .I was detained for 9 months by ICE. As a result of my detention i had to give up smoking and drinking for 9 months. I never thought this was possible or had ever planned to stop smoking or drinking. Remember i had been smoking weed since i was about 16. So life didn't exist for me without weed.At first it was difficult. Then i had no choice. I went through a lot of fazes and got to a point where i promised myself never to touch another blunt and glass of alcohol. For 9 months i remained sober.I told all my friends i would not smoke when i got out. Then i was released thanks to god. I headed right back to my old habits.I finally realized that this was me and completely stopped fighting back. This is who i had become as an adult. Dope Fein is the first song i recorded after my release from Delaney hall (newark, NJ ) on april 9th 2012. It says a lot about people who have had the same troubles i have had with my habits. I dedicate this record and this album too all the musician in THE 27 CLUB. May your souls rest in peace. love gibril da african
