So, when she was only 11 years old, the talented Huntsville, AL, native began to study trumpet with a heart full of dreams. She furthered her musical education by attending the Interlochen Arts Academy and then went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Music from the Curtis Institute of Music." Bibi Black was the first female trumpet player for the Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestra and the youngest to reach the position of second chair trumpet at the young age of twenty-three. She has been a soloist since 1989 and has performed at venues world wide. She now resides in her native Alabama with her family.
