LUMINAIRE
Once upon a time... ...there was a young gremlin named Rob Stewart and he had some songs that had been kicking around in his heart for quite a while... ...During his academic career, he played a few of them with a killer post-hippie neo-folk grunge band called Tom Foolery, but for whatever reason mostly kept them to himself and the occasional open microphone... ...Then one day, young Nicholas Irvine said "We should jam." Nick was a wiz on the drum kit and seemed to have a preternatural knowledge of Rob's songs, even the quiet moments and changes, without having ever heard them! Plus, he liked the songs and was not ashamed to express it. This filled Rob's heart with encouragement, and he decided to put forth more effort in nurturing the other budding sonic expressions he had stuffed up his sleeve... ...Before long, he named his music group The Day, added a couple more musicians and recorded a demo called "window," a three-song folk rock soul romp (You can still hear it at www.myspace.com/thedayis)... ...Alas, the other musicians became occupied elsewhere, and Nicholas had another band to whom he had primary allegiance. On top of that, a search of The U.S. Trademark Website revealed that another band had already processed a trademark for The Day! At the end of the day it was Lonely Rob and His Guitar. Or so it seemed... ...For one late summer's evening, the precocious Naomi Kerlin said "I'll play bass." And boy did she! And guess what? She also had an excellent singing voice, clear as a bell, and graced the songs with the lovliest of harmonies. And, fortunately, Nick played the drum kit every chance he got... ...Now they've gotten together a new "mini-album," an EP called "Luminaire," which Rob & company deeply desire you to have for your very own. And they hope you'll come see them. They'll be appearing at a bar, a church, a laundry room, a book shop, or an alley way near you!...
