Street Sweeper Social Club

by James Christopher Monger   Formed in Los Angeles in 2005 by guitarist Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, Nightwatchman) and rapper Boots Riley (the Coup), Street Sweeper Social Club crafts self-described "revolutionary party jams" steeped in funk, heavy metal, hip-hop and straight-up blue-collar rock & roll that reflect the duo's progressive political views. The band's eponymous debut album was released on WEA in early 2009.
