BEΛR//FVCE
BEΛR//FVCE first came to our attention through Majestic Casual, which is showcasing some seriously talented garage, hip hop, house and electronic acts. With over 4,800 followers on SoundCloud; shout outs from none other than Cyril Hahn calling him a “genuis”; along with being announced as support for xxyyxx’s Dublin show, and his most recent bootleg of Jermiah – Rated R, making most popular on Hype Demand – this 19 year old Belfast boy looks set for great things. At 19 you’re still quite young, how long have you been into and making music? Has it always been electronic or has your style been gradually evolving? I started playing guitar when I was about 12 and been in a few bands and stuff, but I’d say I only started writing electronic music about a year ago. You’ve had massive support from MajesticCasual with shout outs from Cyril Hahn, how did that come about? With Majestic it was pretty much just from people sending him my stuff and luckily he liked it, Majestic has been a huge huge help. With the Cyril Hahn thing I’m not even sure how he found out about me, but it’s awesome none the less, he’s a super nice guy. Where did the name come from? Bear’s have faces which i think is pretty cool. How would you describe the music you are making and what is it you’re inspired by? I’d say I’m inspired a lot but the current hip hop scene, as well as 90′s chopped and screwed stuff, also a huge r’n’b influence as well. What are your thoughts on the Belfast music scence? Is it supportive to/of music acts like yourself? The music scene in Belfast is pretty strange, it generally feels really behind the times and there are only a handful of electronic producers. It’s mainly bands and that sort of thing, not to say there aren’t some great bands from here, but in general it feels a bit lacking to me. What is the staple of your wardrobe at the moment? Aw man, I don’t even know. I wear hats a lot
